“Part of our dream at Jarrett Farm is to honor the story of the land.”
-Dave & Amber

How it began, how it has changed and how it will live on…

1946

A young soldier who was the son of a share cropper, came back to Oklahoma after the war, married his sweetheart & bought an Oklahoma farm. Along with his new wife and her parents they all made a home on his farm and began a family dairy farming operation.

1950’s to 1970’s

Five generations of family faithfully worked the land and passed the farm down to their children and grandchildren for many years well into the 70s.

1984

In 1984 the present owner of the farm learned that he had cancer, and subsequently sold the property to a couple who had dreams of their own. Scorpions and rocks and the wind in the trees were all that existed on a hilltop 20 miles north of Tulsa when Jerry and Shauna Agnew first saw it. Jarrett Farm Country Inn overlooked a 230-acre horse farm The first guests arrived on their doorstep in October 1989.

1990-1998

Later, after a family tragedy occurred, two businessmen, Marvin Luke and Gary Dennis, partnered with the family, purchased the property the land became “Jarrett Farm”. The few changes under way were designed to “enhance an already assured positive experience for guests”, Dennis said. Original owners Jerry and Shauna Agnew had drawn up a master plan, and Luke said he and Dennis "are carrying on what they wanted to do. We do not want to lose what the Agnews have worked so hard to build."

2007-2014

In 2007 a large ice storm left the farm crippled with repairs and the owners had no choice but to close in early 2008 and put it up for sale. But, it didn’t sell! In 2012, they re-opened realized Jarrett Farm had become part of people's lives and memories, and said they missed that part of it. But now there will be plenty of opportunity to make more memories. Dave and I spent our wedding night at Jarrett Farm Resort and hold those memories close! In 2014 it was sold yet again to new owners who sold the property in 2018 yet again.

2022

In 2018, the property was purchased by Tri County Tech. The school purchased the former Jarrett Farm Resort, 15 miles south of Bartlesville on Highway 75, in 2018 with plans to establish a Leadership Retreat Center where it would host training about leadership and workplace culture.

Things changed during the pandemic, however, causing the school to pivot, instead hosting the trainings on its existing campus. In 2021, they withdrew their plans and sold the property to us! The Stewarts…and the dream for Jarrett Farm Resort lives on!
